The Saga of the Völsungs: Brynhild

Abstract

In the saga, Brynhild, a Valkyrie, angered the god Odin and, in retribution, he pricked her with a thorn which sent her into a long slumber. The Saga of the Völsungs tells a different tale of Sleeping Beauty where she is not a princess but a warrior.
